The wait is over: Germany reopens to U.S. citizens

U.S. citizens were not able to travel freely to Germany for more then 400 days due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. However, German authorities finally lifted the travel restrictions against Americans set in the begging of the pandemic. 

According to the US Embassy in Germany, “As of June 20, 2021, residents of the United States are allowed to enter Germany, unless traveling from a virus-variant area from which entry is banned. The list of virus-variant areas can be found here.

Lufthansa, the largest German airline and the second-largest airline in Europe announced on June 25, 2021  that it welcomes back United States citizens who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
